Digital and Interactive Media and Digital Arts and Animation

For this year, I have combined two of my favorite classes into one.  If you are Business or CTE Certified, you probably teach Digital and Interactive Media (DIM) and if you are Tech Apps Certified, you probably teach Digital Arts and Animation (DAA).

When examining the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for both classes, you will find the overlap that exists.  Since the Tech Apps course serves as a Fine Art Credit, I offer that to my students who need it.  The rest are coded under Career and Technology Education (CTE).

Because I use this as a Blended course, I have it set up with it's own website and I just finished updating it for the 2014-2015 school year.  Not all of the lessons were designed by me, but under the link's tab, you should be able to find all the contributors for this class website.

If you use this class site, please don't comment on it as it is really used in my class for my students.  You can email me at lynnburleigh@gmail to report any broken links or concerns about the content.

I remember gathering all these great lessons and putting them together to fit within the confines of the class period allowed.  Under the assignments tab you will find each week.  The lessons for each week build in knowledge and skills, so should be done in order.  I work my students from bell to bell in a 50 minute class period and I usually have about 15 students.  You may have to adjust for your class size and period time.

I hope this helps you with planning for your own Digital Arts class.  http://lburleigh.edublogs.org/

Another school year has come to a close

and...If you're like me, you are  already starting on lesson plans for next year.  Please know that I have fixed a couple broken links and will be working this summer to update the lessons and resources you find here.

For those of you using Microsoft Office 2010, all the lessons for the Microsoft will work, you will want to change any reference to the "Office Button" to read the "File Tab".  That's pretty much all that changed in Word, Access, and Excel.  PowerPoint is a whole nother matter!  That program is so great, with the 3d effects and the ability to save as a completed video file.

The classes I teach have changed a little bit so I will have new and different lessons that I will be adding.  I will be teaching Video Game Design and Visual Media Analysis and have several lessons already completed and just waiting to be added to this site.  I have taken over Yearbook...so tell any of your colleagues who feel overwhelmed by Yearbook to check out my link to an entire website ready to use in class!  I will be including it soon.  I also have website that I will link that you can use for the entire Digital Interactive Media or Digital Arts and Animation courses.

Please note that all of these lessons are not my own, but those that I have found and sometimes reworked to fit my needs.  I always try to give credit to the original publisher if I can find it.

Please share my site and visit often as new lessons will be added as I continue to set up new classes for this year. Join Teachers Pay teachers today to start selling your lesson plans.  Click Here to Start

Email with any questions or concerns and join or follow this site.
Thanks, Lynn
